Anglican News From Northern Malawi

Anglican Diocese of Northern Malawi added 8 new photos.

We thank God for enabling us to fulfill all the assignments over the weekend. On Saturday we had requiem mass for the repose of the Late Mama Charity Grace Sauli wife to the late Canon Peter Sauli in Lilongwe. We drove all night to arrive in Karonga for the Induction service of the Venerable Canon Ng’oma as Parish priest for St. Ambrose Parish and Archdeacon of Karonga and Chitipa in the morning of Sunday. Soon after that we cruised to Chitipa for the confirmation of 33 new members. Praise be to God whose mercy endures for ever.

The time on the Island of Likoma and Chizumulu has been a blessing. Time well spent. Today I visited my former secondary school in those days it was Malawi College of Distance Education (MCDE) formally Malawi Correspondence College (MCC). One encouraging thing happened was that students instead of asking for anything else they asked for Bibles. This is a great request that I will strive to provide come rain or come sunshine. What a great request of the Word of God. I hope I will find some colleague to join me provide these Bibles to this School.

Yes thanks be to God the Almighty for the work beautifully done my Lord Bishop. Your presence in the Archdeaconry this week has made the church to add more confirmed members a good sign of growth of the Body of Christ. What remains now is how to nurture the new added flock. Let the good work continue to the glory of God the Almighty.

What a great day at St. Peter’s Cathedral. No wonder this is the mother Church of the Anglican Parishes in Malawi, South West Tanzania, Northern Mozambique and Zambia. A five hour marathon to confirm 215 members. Each one of them had to be treated as the only person of the day. Praise the Lord.

Where are most of the confirmands from? I did not think the population of the island was so large as to have over 200 people for confirmation!

For sure my dear Lord Bishop, I think you noticed what I said yesterday that this confirmation will be very unique because some of the confirmands were those who shun confirmation several times and many years passed. With God’s grace and help they gave in through the pastoral census we had two months ago. Praises to God the Almighty!!! Bravo Lord Bishop! Let the good work continue to the glory of God the Almighty.
